How to apply & get connected?
The whole process takes less than 15 days if the customer is
fast. Interested customers after submitting the pre-application form complete in all respects, receives a communication from
us confirming him to fill up the formal application form along with a mutually
signed agreement of acceptance of terms. There may be requirement of additional
documents and declaration depending on opted services and bandwidth. The
customer needs to only register at this point of time and the connection is
done within next 72 hours. The day the connection is made,
the customer gets 7 days of trial period for configuring his system for
optimum performance. On the eighth day he pays for all the services desired
along with the security etc. Corporate / Banks/ Institutions/Business houses
follow the same procedure except that the number of computers on their own
network need be mentioned to avail subsidised rates for the
computers on a private network having given a single nodal connectivity to vedantiNET.

Your location can be 3 kms in either side of the main
road viz. MRD Road, GNB Road, MC Road, Rajgarh Road, RGB Road, GS Road, AT
Road connecting Panbazar, Fancy Bazar, Uzan Bazar, Gauhati Club,
Silpukhuri, Chandmari, all along Rajgarh, all along RGB Road, Ganeshguri,
Dispur, Super Market, Christian Basti, ABC godown, Bhangagarh, Manipuri
Basti, Paltan Bazar etc. However, if you are not within 3 kms aerial
distance from these locations, you may still apply for our next phase of
installation commencing on April ,2003.
It has been envisaged to begin connecting premises from
20th April '2007. This is if you send your pre-application form at the
earliest to reach us by 31st March'2007.
In the first phase of the networking, tentatively
beginning April '2007, there will be a maximum of 2000 connected users.
In the second phase, 3000 additional users will be connected in the city.
No, there will be a CAT5 or twin copper wire connecting
your computer to the Fiber Optic backbone passing through the main
thoroughfare of the city via Distribution switches and other equipments in
your locality.
After you are connected to vedanti NET, your existing
P&T telephone will be only required if you want to have additional
Internet connection and of course for your regular telephonic
conversation. vedanti NET gives you 24 hrs. redundant leased Internet
connection along with a host of other network services giving you
continuous uninterrupted bandwidth at the opted scale throughout your
membership period and that too with Fiber Optic connectivity where signal
loss is practically nil. Moreover, using IP telephony service, you will
connect any PC or other telephone from the same network at a very cheap
rate. Your P&T telephone will be almost a dead instrument then.
Cable necessarily means wired , that is in any case
wired. Now there are various technologies in the world today, out of which
three to four technologies have been widely accepted. Depending on
infrastructure availability, environmental issues and disturbances
parameters, some of the technologies have restrictions as far as successes
are concerned. For instance, a typically known cable Internet technology
will involve third party Cable TV operators and their network, which in
India are highly disorganised, irregular and are laid without any
structured method of networking making it unreliable for your investment
as has already been proved elsewhere in the country. There is a separate
technology called DSL which involves telephone cable and can give
comfortable 5 mbps bandwidth subject to the structural method followed by
the telephone company. vedanti NET, however,
gets into the latest technology where Long Range principles of Ethernet
get employed in her own distinct private network independent of any Cable
TV operated network or telephone company. This technology has proved to
give up to 15 mbps even on the ordinary twin copper wire.
vedanti NET has been
scheduled to function on commercial basis from 20th April '2007.
However, the office at the given locations are fully operational to
receive your query and for installation of control rooms. The date of
commercial launching is tentative and changes made if any, appears
here.
Because of Fiber Optic backbone, the bandwidth opted for
is almost guaranteed with no fall over. If at all there is any variation,
this is because of some other users in the vicinity trafficking files of
voluminous sizes and will therefore affect only your locality and not in
the wholesome. The services offered are distributed from various
distribution points in the city where equipments installed require
uninterrupted power supply. Due to erratic power conditions of the city,
vedanti NET supports all equipments on the
network with own uninterrupted power supplies up to 90 minutes of failure,
beyond which the network trips and your connection gets disturbed. This is
beyond the scope of service, anyone can provide.
vedanti NET recognizes the
following points of failure of service: (a) Power failure beyond 90
minutes in any of the distribution points of the network, the control room
being fully secured from any kind of power failures 24 hrs a day: (b)
Sabotage or tripping of roadside cables due to reason beyond control: (c)
Failure of equipments on the network, which, however, gets done in less
than 2 hours: (d) Failure of customers' system or wrong configuration: (e)
Non-payment of monthly dues or otherwise: (f) Acts of God viz.
earthquake, storm, bandhs, floods, riot, personal clashes, law & order,
government directive etc.and (g) Failure of Internet backbone or gateway
access of the parent.
You pay for charges of services after your connection is
made and found satisfactory. You only pay for initial registration at the
time of accepting your connection. No payment is required with
pre-application. Your security against each service is adjustable with the
charges in the final month of your one year membership schedule and
payable at the beginning of accepting any service with connection.
No, you do not essentially require separate video
conferencing unit or digital phone for IP telephony. However, if you think
that your computer should detach from conferencing because it is not
sustainable as video conferencing console requires highly configured
system or because your system is always busy doing other things or because
the separate unit is better meant for conferencing, you may very well go
for a separate video conferencing stand alone equipment. Similarly for IP
telephony as well which is a dedicated digital phone exclusively for the
purpose.
vedanti NET responds in 30
minutes to any service call by customer during office hours, while
telephonic support is maintained 24 hrs online. From 7 PM to 7 AM, the
service call is personally attended in one to two hours, if at site .
Regular service schedules are maintained on the roadside network and
roundabout visits made twice a day.
Your system might require up-gradation if the
minimum requirement is not met.

accepts service per computer basis and there is reasonable discount for
multiple computers in a network or in the same premise. This costing is
assessed only after understanding your layout and service requirement. You
